So You Still Need An E-book?
E-Books have unique abilities, and qualities. After writing an E-Book; you can place it on your website, copy it to compact disc, copyright and sell it, or give it away for free. Why give it away for free? We’ll get to that. First, let us look at all of the unique qualities of an E-Book.
E-Books are easy to produce. You can type one out on your computer, without any printing hassles.
E-books are inexpensive to produce. After you finish typing your E-Book, all that is left is marketing it all over the internet, which can be done many ways, for free. Others can obtain your E-Book easily over the internet by downloading it.
There are no publishing barriers. You don’t have to worry about high prices, distribution, shipping, or publishers.
Make your E-Book interactive.
Remember, E-books can stay on the internet for long periods of time, and people can read them over, and over again. It will be helpful to include things in your E-Book, that will keep your readers attention. You don’t want your readers to feel like they are reading a whole newspaper, in a boring monotone way. What could you include in your E-book? You could use punctuation, and colors to attract your readers eye, or you could use games, puzzles, surveys, etc.
What do you need?
You need a concept, and you need to write it. Keep in mind, that last time we briefly touched on the subject of your target audience. Your target audience are the people who you are trying to reach with your ideas, techniques, and problem solving skills. They need information, and they are looking to you to give them ideas, and techniques to use, or they might want to know how you can help them turn their problems into profits.
What can you do with your E-Book?
Remember that you have creative control. Your E-Book can be placed on your website, so that your customers have access to free information. If you place your E-Book on your website, you increase the possibility of getting more targeted traffic, more sales, and affiliate contacts.
You can copy it to compact disc; sell it, hand it out as a promotional tool, or use it in some kind of discount to your customers.
You could even give away your E-Book for free. Giving away your E-Book for free is a great way to build trust with your potential customers. Your potential customers may need information which you offer in your E-Book, so by giving it away, you might actually turn your potential customers into returning customers.
If your E-Book is going to be a marketing tool for your business, you may need to break it down into chapters. Update your content as people’s needs change. Give new advice, new techniques, and continue to serve your customers. Continue to adjust your E-Book until it sells. Learn the market, and the customer over time, without spending a fortune. Discover goals, solve problems, and increase the value of your business.
How do you make yourself known?
Be creative. You may need to come up with a unique name, that people will remember. Place links in your E-Book that will link back to your site, or different parts of your site. Give away your E-Book all over the internet: use forums, articles, blogs, email, traffic exchanges, and other free marketing methods.
When you have successfully marketed your E-Book, it will create a spider’s web, throughout “The Web”, which you can use to catch customers.
Are you ready to catch them?
Now lets get prepared.
When starting your E-Book, break down your project into steps. Picture a mountain climber climbing a mountain. How does he, or she do it? One step at a time right? So you must also begin your project one step at a time, and then eventually just like the mountain climber, you will reach your goal; finishing your E-Book.
Organize your thoughts.
Brainstorm and come up with a title for your E-Book. Of course you want it to be good…too good. Come up with a title that will catch your readers eye. Clarify your title, and try to be clever. Remember to ask yourself: What do your readers need to know?
How can you help solve their problems?
If this is the foundation that you lay, then all of your chapters will come from this. They will continue to flow into each other throughout your E-Book.
As you come up with information, make sure and ask yourself these questions: Is your information useful, and appropriate? Will readers be positively affected? Is your information attention grabbing? Does your information answer meaningful questions?
Make sure that you know your target audience.
Who are you trying to reach?
Why are you writing?
What goals do you want to reach?
Make sure that your writing is meaningful!
Keep your format consistent. Use a casual form of writing. Break up the length if needed, and make sure that your pages are not too dense. Make sure that your content is easy to read, and spelled correctly. Use a lot of white space to ease your readers eyes. You want to give your readers information, without the headaches. Create an index, and bibliography.
Try these tips to gain writing experience:
Become a better writer with practice. Write about anything. While doing that, try to understand the writing process better by reading some books. Explore the writing styles of different authors. Continue to write daily, and you should notice improvement.
Remember, the better you write, the better your sales will be.
